About Me
Jacob Walter is the founder of Aegis Training Group, a firearms training company dedicated to developing safe, competent, and confident shooters through practical, performance-based instruction.
Jacob is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he earned multiple expert-level qualifications with both the service rifle and pistol. During his military service, he served as a Range Safety Officer, responsible for supervising live-fire training and ensuring safe weapons handling among shooters of varying experience levels.
Following his military service, Jacob transitioned into law enforcement, where he currently serves as a police officer with several years of experience. His professional background provides him with real-world insight into decision-making under stress, use-of-force considerations, and the responsible application of firearms in dynamic environments.
Jacob is an Illinois State Police licensed firearms instructor and is state-certified to teach both pistol and rifle courses. He is also a certified armorer for AR-15 style rifles, bringing a comprehensive understanding of weapon systems, maintenance, and reliability to his instruction.
In addition to his professional experience, Jacob is an active competitive shooter who participates in USPSA matches. His continued involvement in competition allows him to refine his skills in accuracy, efficiency, and speed, while staying current with modern training methods and performance standards.
Jacob’s instruction philosophy is to safely and effectively push students outside their comfort zone to develop confident, performance-based shooters. Through structured training and accountability, he challenges students to grow beyond baseline competency and build real, measurable skill.
His training is designed for anyone seeking to develop a deeper understanding and a new perspective as a student of the gun, regardless of experience level.

About Me
Regan Molohon is a law enforcement officer with over a decade of professional experience dedicated to public safety, firearms proficiency, and tactical excellence. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of specialized roles, including over eight years as a SWAT operator and SWAT sniper, where he developed extensive experience in tactical operations, precision marksmanship, critical incident response, and team-based problem-solving under pressure.
Regan's instructional background includes certifications as a Firearms Instructor, Red Dot Pistol Instructor, Less-Lethal Instructor, and Certified De-escalation Instructor. His comprehensive approach to training emphasizes not only marksmanship and weapon handling but also decision-making, communication, accountability, and the responsible use of force.
In addition to his operational and instructional experience, Regan is a certified Glock Armorer and AR-15 Armorer, possessing an in-depth understanding of firearm maintenance, reliability, diagnostics, and performance enhancement. His technical expertise allows him to provide students with valuable insight into both the operation and upkeep of their firearms.
As a State of Illinois Certified Concealed Carry Instructor, Regan is authorized to train and certify students seeking to obtain their Illinois Concealed Carry License. He is passionate about educating responsible gun owners and equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills necessary to safely carry and effectively employ a firearm for personal defense.
As Co-Founder of Aegis Training Group, Regan is committed to delivering professional, realistic, and performance-driven training to law enforcement officers, armed citizens, and responsible firearm owners. A lifelong student of the craft, he dedicates countless hours to training, studying evolving techniques, and refining his skills to ensure that both he and his students continue to grow and improve.
